RAB / AC
Rotary air blast and air core drilling. Steel or tungsten blades cut through soft ground while cuttings are lifted by compressed air injected into the hole. A fast, low-cost reconnaissance method.

An MMD-Holding company
Mineral drilling contractor in West Africa. Reverse circulation, diamond core, RAB/AC, water wells and geotechnical drilling, delivered by experienced field crews to international HSE standards.
Who we are
Elohim Drilling was founded in 2019, continuing the business of BATIMALI, the group’s original water well and foundation drilling company. It was created to specialise in mineral drilling and serve the growing needs of the extractive sector in West Africa.
Building on more than a decade of BATIMALI experience, Elohim represents MMD-Holding’s move into more technical, higher value work in mining: exploration sampling, grade control, water supply and geotechnical investigation.
Our methods
From surface reconnaissance to deep coring, we mobilise the method that suits the geological objective and the ground, without multiplying contractors.
01
Rotary air blast and air core drilling. Steel or tungsten blades cut through soft ground while cuttings are lifted by compressed air injected into the hole. A fast, low-cost reconnaissance method.
02
A destructive method giving accurate metre-by-metre sample recovery. Because the sample returns inside the drill rod, contamination from the walls of the hole is avoided.
03
A diamond-impregnated annular bit cuts a cylindrical core of solid rock. The most complete geological and structural return, essential to resource work.
Depths are indicative of each method. Contractual depths depend on the programme and on the rig mobilised.
Where we work
| Field | Service | Methods |
|---|---|---|
| Mineral exploration | Soil and subsurface sampling, prospecting campaigns, delineation drilling | RAB/AC, RC, DD |
| Grade control | Defining ore grade in open pit operations, waste-to-ore boundaries, data for mine planning and blasting | RC |
| Mine infrastructure | Control, dewatering and ventilation holes, and holes for underground services | RC, DD |
| Construction and geotechnical | Surface and subsurface investigation, physical properties of soil and rock for earthworks and foundations | RAB/AC, DD |
| Water and dewatering | Drilling and casing of wells for process plant supply, dewatering and lowering the water table ahead of excavation | Down-the-hole hammer |
Our footprint
Expanding prospecting operations and commercial coordination for Ivorian programmes.
Strategic partnership with Sud Mining on the Minkoro and Linguekoro properties, in collaboration with Desert Gold.
Work carried out through the MMD-Holding group on various gold projects.
Technical assistance and prospecting in sensitive areas.
Equipment and crews
Experience gained by our drillers and mechanics over their careers. The rigs actually mobilised on a contract are specified in each proposal.
Safety and compliance
Working for an industrial mine demands documentary discipline as much as operational discipline. We organise for both.
An HSE officer embedded in every shift crew, personal protective equipment, pre-shift briefings and procedures aligned with the requirements of international mining clients.
Metre-by-metre bagging, sequential numbering, chip trays for control, insertion of quality control samples to the client’s protocol and handover to a partner laboratory.
Corporate, tax and social documentation, insurance certificates, HSE plan, equipment data sheets and crew CVs provided on request for know your contractor checks.
The context
West Africa is one of the most active gold provinces in the world. The figures below come from official sources, with the reference year stated.
| Country | Gold production | Year and source |
|---|---|---|
| Ghana | 130 tonnes gold content, estimated | 2024, USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2025 |
| Ghana, national figure | 5,077,425 ounces, of which 2,200,143 from small-scale mining | 2024, Minerals Commission of Ghana |
| Mali | 70 tonnes gold content, estimated | 2024, USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2025 |
| Burkina Faso | 60 tonnes gold content, estimated | 2024, USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2025 |
| Côte d’Ivoire | 41.857 tonnes achieved; 47 tonnes forecast | 2021 and 2024 forecast, Ivorian Ministry of Mines |
| World production | 3,300 tonnes, estimated | 2024, USGS Mineral Commodity Summaries 2025 |
USGS estimates and national statistics do not use the same scope: USGS reports gold content, while administrations publish declared production, sometimes excluding small-scale mining. Both are shown as published.
Send us the metreage, target depths, location and preferred schedule. We will come back with a technical and commercial proposal.
