Company

A drilling contractor born out of a West African industrial group

Elohim Drilling is the mineral drilling arm of MMD-Holding, an Ivorian and Malian group active in works, industry and services.

Our history

From water and foundations to mineral drilling

The group began in water well and foundation drilling with BATIMALI. More than ten years of sites built a rare foundation: crews able to keep machines in production far from any workshop, in conditions of access, heat and dust that wear out equipment and people alike.

In 2019, Elohim Drilling was created to carry that capability into the extractive sector. The trade changes: the objective is no longer the structure, it is the data. A metre drilled is only worth the quality of the sample it produces, its traceability and the accuracy of its position. That requirement shapes our organisation today.

Elohim Drilling sits within a wider whole: the group is also active in mining titles and exploration, energy, agribusiness, security and outdoor advertising. That integration gives access to logistical and administrative resources a standalone operator does not have.

Our people

The experience of our crews, not just the age of our rigs

We recruit drillers and mechanics trained on programmes run by majors and listed juniors. That is our first asset.

Supervision

More than 25 years in the field

Our most senior supervisors have over twenty-five years of exploration drilling behind them, including diamond and gold programmes and deep holes beyond 900 metres.

Rig operation

Drillers across RC and DD

Our drillers have run RC and coring spreads across several generations of rigs, including the Schramm and EDM ranges commonly specified by mine operators.

Maintenance

Mechanical and welding in-house

Senior mechanics, an electrician and a welder assigned to the shift, so repairs happen on site instead of waiting for a workshop hundreds of kilometres away.

Ground covered

Six countries of combined experience

Our crews have worked on sites in Guinea, Mali, Ghana, Gabon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Mauritania.

Out of respect for our employees’ privacy, individual career histories are not published. Named CVs for the proposed crew are attached to each proposal and supplied in pre-qualification packs.

Safety

Safety as the condition of site access

  • An HSE officer per shift crew — present at handover, pre-shift briefings and incident follow-up.
  • Personal protective equipment — issued, inspected and replaced, including respiratory protection for dust exposure.
  • Alignment with client procedures — our instructions integrate into the client’s HSE management system rather than duplicating it.
  • Insurance — general liability, workers compensation, motor vehicle and plant; certificates provided before mobilisation.

The group

MMD-Holding

Elohim Drilling is a subsidiary of MMD-Holding, a West African entrepreneurial group led by Mamadou Dramé, active in works and foundations, mining titles and exploration, energy, agribusiness, security and outdoor advertising.

Developing local companies capable of delivering technical services to international standards is central to the group’s approach, and its chairman speaks publicly on the role of local business (interview published by the Ivorian Press Agency).

Standards and frameworks

The frameworks our procedures are aligned to

We do not claim certifications we do not hold. Listed here are the public frameworks that structure our internal procedures and against which a client can audit us.

FrameworkScope What it means on our sites
ISO 9001:2015 Quality management systems Written procedures, sample traceability, non-conformity handling
ISO 14001:2015 Environmental management systems Fuel and mud management, rehabilitation of drill pads
ISO 45001:2018 Occupational health and safety Job hazard analysis, work permits, near-miss reporting
BS EN 16228 Safety of drilling and foundation equipment Guarding of rotating parts and interlocks on the rod string
Respirable crystalline silica OSHA occupational exposure limit of 50 µg/m³ over eight hours Dust suppression, respiratory protection, rotation at the cyclone

Scope of each standard from the official ISO listings. Guarding of rotating parts and the reference to BS EN 16228: UK HSE operational guidance. OSHA limit of 50 µg/m³ and NIOSH recommended 0.05 mg/m³: CDC / NIOSH and the NIOSH Pocket Guide. Elohim Drilling is not certified to these standards today: they are the basis of our procedures, not a title held.
